Who we are

Communicadillo is a nonprofit communications program currently in its infancy. We provide free communications support to under-resourced nonprofits and digital skills training to individuals from underserved communities. Our website is communicadillo.org.

What information we collect and why

We collect only what we need to do our work.

Through our website and waitlist form, we collect your name, work email address, and organization name when you choose to submit them. We also collect a brief description of your goals or your interest in supporting Communicadillo, depending on which type of inquiry you submit. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry, add you to our waitlist, and keep you informed about program openings and organizational updates.

If your organization is accepted into our program, we may collect additional information during the engagement, including organizational context, internal documents, strategic plans, or other materials you choose to share with us to help us complete the work. This information is used only to deliver the services we agreed to and for no other purpose.

We do not collect payment information. Our services are free.

How we use AI tools

Some of our work involves AI-assisted drafting, content development, or workflow automation. We are selective about what information enters these tools. Personally identifiable information, donor records, financial data, staff communications, and anything your organization considers confidential does not go into AI tools. At the start of each client engagement, we discuss with you what is appropriate to use and how.

Data retention and deletion

Waitlist and contact form submissions are retained until you request removal or until they are no longer relevant to an active or potential engagement.

Client materials shared during an engagement are returned to your organization upon completion. Upon written request, we will delete any copies of your materials from our systems within 30 days and will provide written confirmation of deletion on request.

To request deletion of your information, contact us at the address below.

Data security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the information you share with us, including limiting access to client files and using secure file storage. We are a small organization and do not operate automated data pipelines or large-scale retention systems.

No method of internet data transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have concerns about sharing sensitive information, we encourage you to contact us directly to discuss how we can handle it appropriately before sharing.

Cookies

Our website may use basic cookies to understand how visitors interact with our site. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can adjust your browser settings to limit or refuse cookies. Some features of the site may not function correctly without them.

Children's privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us, and we will remove it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our programs and practices evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We will not make changes that reduce your protections without notice.
